    Classic Front fog/auxiliaries

Genius. Many thanks. Just checked and they work fine on main beam. Now vaguely remember thinking this was a pain in fog

    Classic Front fog/auxiliaries

Thanks. As I was getting the cracked front lens of the near side lamp fell away and what it revealed was that the bulb was fine. The fuse is also ok. Is there a common point in the wiring where these fail? Any pointers in where to start the investigation would be very helpful.

Afternoon. I'm being daft but I can't see how to easily replace the bulbs in the front fogs in the spoiler. I've replaced units before due to broken glass but never actually had to replace a bulb. Appears to be no easy access from the inner wing?

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Yup. Exactly right. I posted on the off chance that someone in this community knew of such a firm. It's finding an established wheel manufacturing entity who understands the criteria and legal obligations also.

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

After running the 5.7 Overfinch, this build will have a little more power. The install is an M113 AMG. They are the same size as the RV8 and being that much younger, a better unit. Without the breathing restrictions and Eco settings when in an E55 we usually see about 400bhp by 400 lbs. More...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Higher speed and load ratings without going wider on tyres. Plus the reduction in flex. With big HP on these cars you don't need any more rubber than 225 as they grip well enough. Plus, you want excess torque to be released by spinning a wheel rather than sheering the half shafts or more...

Thanks. The loads almost certainly won't be high enough.

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Thanks for the notes re replacing the centres of existing rims. This is precisely what is required. The issue is that I have not been able to find a business who is capable to undertaking the work to a suitable standard. These types of businesses don't generally have a web presence which is...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Thanks. Yup, I've already spoken with a few of them but they don't actually have the ability to do this work. They can refit a centre to a new rim but only the same diameter as before. The closest I've come was to commission Image Wheels to remanufacture the centres friends m billet ali but...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Yup. No shortage of options for people wanting to use them for what they were intended. :) Waded through Google but all you can find is banding for 'scenes'. That's why I thought I'd ask as my experience is that the small firms who still do this are often not having a web presence but are...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Yup. I've run those on the 7J alloys of the later Classics. You still get a fair amount of movement from the walls. However, they won't fit on the 6J Rostyle steels. So, if I'm going to have a set fabricated I might as well step up the diameter at the same time as this presents a much wider...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

You can say what you like but it would be much more useful to hear an answer rather than a remark. ;) I use my Rangies for fast road use and I'd rather not have to resort to modern alloys to achieve what is needed. If no one knows a company in the UK that is capable of some pretty simple...

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

If the universe intended this then there would be a good selection of suitable performance road tyres for 16" wheels :) In my universe I would like to find someone who can make me a set of 17/18" X 7/8J Rostyle wheels.

17 or 18 inch steel wheels for Rangie Classic

Afternoon. I'm a bit stuck at the moment as I have learned that Matt Lee who used to fabricate Rostyle centres into modern, larger rims is no longer doing this. I want larger rims than 16 so that I have a wider choice of fast road tyres and better fast road handling, ie slightly less tyre...

    "Landrover Heritage Scheme"

They've been traveling around talking to some of the restorers. Apparently the White Rangie they had on the stand at the classic car show has been totally dismantled and they've scanned all the parts. Only issue seems to be that they've not chosen an original car to do this with apparently...

    Classic Autobox

If waiting in N for a second or two has reduced the clonk then the normal reason is that it is because you've let the engine tickover drop to its rest rate. Are you running aircon on at the moment? That can have an impact on tickover that makes the clonk appear in summer and go in winter. In...

Does it still clink if you hold it in N for a moment before R? Ibe always found that when they start clonking that adopting that strategy stops the clonk.

Discover 1 V8 Auto basically breaking.

Hi. Sorry shifter is coming out with the drivetrain. Re bumper, I'll have a look tomorrow and see how easy it is to take off. Re other bits, happy for them to be collected but it's just not viable to post anything. Sorry.

    Death wobble!?

The chances are that the complement that is causing the issue has been put more into play by the replacement of what was left of the rubber bushes with the unforgiving poly bushes. I would personally always have rubber bushes in the panhard as the extra little bit of damping they give is...

    Death wobble!?

Still a ladder chassis with a panhard, a steering damper and swivel pins. Death wobble is a classic symptom that any Rangie mechanic would know about. Especially seeing as most P38s have been poorly maintained at some point in their long life. ;)
