thanks guys .. it did run dry as the turbo pushed oil through into intake and so the engine ran until no oil left even with the key out of ignition, it hasnt seized as i said still runs but ont well enough to pull its own weight,

yeah that what i feared , was thinking maybe get a replacement then recon mine to reimburse the coffers, looks like ill be stripping and rebuilding mine just means longer time not getting use out of my disco,, many thanks shifty

does any one have a cheap td5 2002 i fear mine may have died it over ran on oil after turbo broke, fitted new turbo , gaskets , oil filters , oil cleared ecu faults had trouble starting,started ran very rough cylinder check on lap top showed no 2 had no out put and the others 2 were overworking...

i have td5 disco mine has blown white smoke as described since november time , did same as suggested above , nothing changed , now i am in the process of replacing turbo due to failure no engine damage luckily , worth checking for play on wheel shaft and scoring on inlet housing and checking...

i have linked out the oil feed to old turbo,renewed oil and filter started up no problems,so maybe my luck has changed,no damage to motor , just in process of removing intercooler,needs good clean full of oil as ud expect, wondered is there any thing i can do to clean exhaust,or is it a case of...

does anyone know where ideally west yorkshire i can get me very broken turbo reconditioned or can i get spares/service kit .. the wheels and shaft are excessivly loose and engine running (even after ign turned off) using all the engine oil sending more smoke into the air than that damn volcano...

mine goes down occasionaly (and the wife) it may sound stupid but are the doors closed when you try to re inflate the bags i left mine parked up for a couple of days before i found out doors need to be closed

desperate for help 51 plate td5 disco had new fuel pump,fuel filter,fuel system flush ,fuel filter head valves replaced but still struggles to start and wont run for long any ideas i have run out of money .... oh forgot to mention injector seals replaced aswell.. im in brighouse west yorks...

didny know about the gauze but had a new pump fitted by a mate at his garage will be asking him to flush the whole system if he hasnt already done it as suggested by minidod if it still wont run then i ll be back lol oh and scratchin mi head a lot

well guys just for you information .. it would seem i have diesel bug .. obviosly condensation or water has aloud the micro organisms to flourish resulting in at least an inch of gunge/sludge in tank hence blocking and causing fuel pump to fail . . replaced fuel pump replaced filter again...

now then it does sometimes make a sqelchy noise but more electronic than wet squelch i know that isnt going to describe it lol i must be stupid, but suppose it could sound like air pushing back thru the wrong way if that makes sense

right guys ,, thanks for all your advice really appreciate it . i have put new fuel filter on although it was pretty dirty it hasnt made any difference, ecu is clean (red plug) o rings are fine on the injector harness, i couldnt get any injector seals so havent done that , it starts with easy...

£245.58 plus vat and £17.50 plus vat for the filter .. a friend just called and said it may be the injector seals ?? wtf

yeah makes sense apart from the 300 quid to buy a pump lol
