Thanks All - It turned out the juddering wasn't a transmission probelm, but old Champion sprk plugs and one, the NSF the core had fallen out - into the cylinder presumably - so was running on a max 7 cylinders. 8 fresh NGK's has fixed the juddering with the 4th Gear Lock-up, but now highlighted...

Thanks - that would ideal, but the juddering is too uneven and sporadic for tyres, and doesn't feel / sound like a shaft slipping - though that would explain why it's worse under load, but not why it only happens in fourth gear. Pulling away up a steepish hill should reproduce that, but it only...
