There is a hand primer lever on the underside of the fuel pump, assuming its got the original mechanical pump. So you shouldn't have a problem. Just remember to hold your cigarette in the other hand.
Ive got hoops, fixings and a light blue hood. I was going to fit a truck cab to mine but have decided against it, its going spare now if you are interested PM me. The hoods not perfect but servicable, the hoop set is pretty good too.
Key turns centre section of the switch, which turns on the ignition (seprate starter button to start engine). Rotate the the plastic outer of the switch to turn on the lights.
How has the loom been to fit? im thinking about a rewire soon.

I guess you will have to modify the bracket then or make a new one, unless you can move the pulley on the alternator shaft . I cant help you on that one mine still has a dynamo on it.
Not sure about the S3 but my military 2A is arranged for twin belts so I think there must be an offset against the standard. Plus when I first got it it had the wrong profile belt fitted which doesn't change the allignment but didnt help matters.

In my limited experience any "little job" that you think youve got time to get done in the spare hour youve got before you go out is guarenteed to end in oily disaster. Wouldnt have it any other way though:)
My 2a has a door mounted mirror, I will have a look in the morning to see how it is fixed. Its not that great mind, the edge of the window glass is always in the way of the mirror.
Thats very true, thanks pobby, the oil temp will be much more useful than the oil warning lamp especially with the mechanical oil pressure gauge thats allready fitted. At least until I have done the more important jobs.
Thanks again
Thanks gents,
there is allready a t in the top of the filter housing feeding the pressure gauge and the oil warning lamp, does that means there a take off somewhere else on the block? I will have another investigate in the light of day. By the way its a standard 2.25 petrol 1966 ex...
Im not near it at the moment but im 99 percent sure it says oil temperature on the face. Its mounted below the cluster with the ammeter etc.
Thats not to say it would not work as a water temperature guage. I tested it in boiling water and it works. I would be happy to fit it into the water...
Hi all
Looking for a little advice on a series mater.
I am currently tryingto get a IIa back on the road. It has an oil temperature gauge fitted but the sender is currently hanging loose under the bonnet. I have been looking through some old threads and cant find any info on where the...
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and landrover ownership. I've had a series IIa for a month now. It has not been on the road for a while (10 years) but is generally fairly tidy. Work so far has been going well unfortunately started peeling off an "I love my landrover" sticker to reveal a hole...
