Stolen In Liverpool L17 D90 Reg B443 DLG

http://www.flickr.com/photos/hiddenpower/5067421797/in/photostream Sometime on the 5th of August 2012 my car was taken from me from my own front yard. Above is a picture though she was minus the warning lamps and plus a couple of offroading dings and dents. I can only assume it was some kids or...

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

Hey guys. So I passed MOT on Friday 13th of April. She is now up and running again and bar a couple of new belts and a nice new Rad she's going good at taking me the 20 miles to work every day without complaint. I just wanted to say thanks for all your help.

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

Any pics? I am primarily a visual learner so it would help out. Also I think my rear suspension needs to be reset after I dropped the axle, any suggestions? or should I just let my mechanic take care of it?

Don't be too impressed yet. Still got to get through MOT. Fingers and toes crossed.

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

Awesome news guys. I dropped that axle which gave me more room to get in (I also chopped the exhaust cos it was gonna go anyway). I had a look around with a straightedge and realigned it all with some draw clamps. Put in some tie bars and rebuilt it with the crossmember in the proper place. No...

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

Roger that I shall get some blocks of wood under the axle just incase. Do I need to demount the shockers too or will they be okay with a bit of extra travel? Am I to assume this is about strategically de-stressing the suspension components? UPDATE: I have dropped the axles, can find no binding...

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

I've confirmed that the crossmember is aligned and straight but do you think it is possible the A-Frame mountings were shifted by repairs from warping? If so I am considering chopping the existing mountings and fabricating some plate and bosses to relaign it all. Is this permissible MOT wise?

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

So put the stands on the Rails instead of the axle? I'd still appreciate confirmation of where I think the crossmember should be, just to ensure that everything is present and correct. Also will I need spring compressors? this would be a problem as I don't own or have access to any. I assume to...

    D90 With A-Frame Crossmember Corrosion

Hi guys, I have an issue for my 90 which is coming round for MOT time. I have had substantial rot on the A-Frame Crossmember and have since chopped it out and tacked it back in place and put the A-Frame back with a new ball joint to see that I've got it right. Upon driving I can hear clunking...

    Reccomended Seller for Doors etc.

Sounds like an idea but my stereo is currently installed in the roof lining so it may just be a bit too much work.

    Reccomended Seller for Doors etc.

Hey there guys, it's me again. Was just wondering what sellers you would reccomend for Early model 90 doors? All of mine are now missing bottoms and I'm trying to find replacements so it's worth changing the seals and getting it all hunky dory again. I know paddocks do a nice rear door with a...

LR 90 200 TDi Starter Troubles

So with our recent bout of snow the starter failed on me. I spent the weekend before christmas taking the old one out and replacing it with a handy spare. She now starts on the button every time. I note that on the old starter the wear marks are only part way along the pinion gear indicating...

200 Tdi in a 90 Reads as Overheating Only at High Speed

Right. New senders been installed. She now no longer reads in the red. I am given to understand though that she should read in the middle normally. I am still getting to just over 3/4 of the guage when travelling over 60mph but it will climb no higher than that level. Returns to halfway when...

200 Tdi in a 90 Reads as Overheating Only at High Speed

When starting into the red the engine reads at 65.

200 Tdi in a 90 Reads as Overheating Only at High Speed

Right so I'm fairly convinced it was the sender. I had a thermocouple from work on it this morning and it reads a paltry 65 degrees so I will be having the sender out when I get the chance and getting a new one from Steve Parker sharpish. Will update with the outcome.

200 Tdi in a 90 Reads as Overheating Only at High Speed

Are you for sure on this? Anyway I live like 5 miles from Steve Parker so I'd rather go pick one up in person. I was suspecting the Rad too because it wouldn't be only at high speed if it were the sender. That or the stat not opening at the right temp.

200 Tdi in a 90 Reads as Overheating Only at High Speed

Hi there guys. Me again. I just this weekend took my 90 for its first long Drive and have discovered that she appears to run hot. The gauge into the red after a few miles doing over 60 and cools again when I run below 60 or take a brake by the roadside. Never gets too hot below 60. I've read...

LR 90 200 TDi Starter Troubles

Unfortunately I was mistaken. The problem has been reduced enough that I can start her when i want now but I still get the same clunk of the solenoid going on without a motor engagement. The earths have all been cleaned/replaced so I'm wondering what else might be causing this issue. At some...

Installing a Stereo System LR 90 200 Tdi

Well I just took a look at one of the packs in Halfords. Have ordered a similar ISO lead from ebay. Just wanted to clarify any special requirements or where they should be going. What sort of fuse should be placed on the main positive power lead and how should the backup positive lead be...
