OK Redhand I was just thinking that when I put it on the bay I will have to put my mobile on there so it may as well go on here as well.

    M reg 300tdi Disco Breaking

I'll pop the Disco on Ebay and give it a month to see what goes then scrap what's left. Disco has done 180k miles. Keyway/pulley has gone on crankshaft. Sills need welding. Front strut broken. Windscreen leaks a bit from centre when raining heavy. The 2 rear window switches on...

Breaking 300tdi ... help with the maths

Cheers fella That's what I'll do. All I wanted was to see if I'd make more than the 360 the local scrappers was offering. I'd sooner parts get used by other LR owners.

Breaking 300tdi ... help with the maths

Defo 160 a tonne Another place just offered 300 quid if I take it to them and they will give me the wheels/tyres back. Same place said that if I keep it at home and sell parts off it first then they will come and high lift what's left. They said as long as the block and chassis are still...

Breaking 300tdi ... help with the maths

Guys The 300tdi M reg has died as I stated in a previous thread. MOT due in Jan. Local weigh in place is offering 160 a tonne so that will fetch about 350. I'd sooner not do that as I'd sooner the parts live on. So does anyone have any idea what a 'breaking' will fetch...

Sad but time for the scrapyard

I'd love him to be put right or be someone's Greenlaner. Best scrap offer so far is 365 quid and that's just up the road and cash in hand. For me to sell on Ebay and get that much I'd have to sell for 400+. I can't see anyone giving me that? I may just buy a makeshift banger to get around...

Sad but time for the scrapyard

I'm sorry guys but enough is enough. I've recently posted about the fuel probs on my M reg 300tdi Disco. That was totally my fault. Anyway that's sorted now. I then posted to say that after sorting the fuel I drove just down the road and went over a speed ramp and the front nearside...

    Front suspension strut problem?

Do I just jack up under that flange to compress the spring and the thread will come through and then fit new washer and nut? So just taking up some preload on the spring?

    Front suspension strut problem?

Hi again Well the fuel problem is sorted ... I hope. Got him home, bypassed sed bowl, drained tank. Refilled with dyno and he's starting and running fine now. I get 300 yards from home, hit a speed ramp and there's a clunking noise coming from front left. Had a look around and the bottom...

Fuel problem ... please help ... urgent

He's safely back home and up the drive. So tomorrow I'll have a proper play and blow lines clear etc. I fixed the can under bonnet. Drilled hole to a tight fit. I was aware of the vacuum issue so I'd also drilled a small hole so air could get in can. Filled can ( about 5 litres ). Got...

Fuel problem ... please help ... urgent

Thanks for the additional replies. We keep living and learning ... well maybe I don't. Things I've learned over the last couple of days ... Know what's in the veg oil that you are using. Apparently in the colder weather oil that is blended and may have Palm oil in is bad to use in the...

Fuel problem ... please help ... urgent

I went to the car. Undid the 14mm/14mm joint on the inlet to the lift pump. Put a piece of fuel pipe on that inlet and put the other end in a can of diesel. Turned car over and it started in seconds and ran perfect. As it was running I opened the bleed valve on top of the filter housing. Fuel...
