    P38A Sad good bye

Hi All, Well I have pondered what to say if anything. But I sold my P38 a few weeks ago. I wanted to say thank you to the great people on here who helped and commented and talked me through air suspension, rolled pins and clutches, BeCM redoing and fuel injection pumps. My favourite car I have...

P38A Have I told you my FIP story?

Thanks Datatek, you are taking about stuff out of my experience, but I did take a couple of pictures of the nanocom screen. Not sure if they are what you are mentioning? Any suggested websites to read up on it? Or do you have a guide for your technique? Thanks Mark

P38A Have I told you my FIP story?

In a far away part of the universe (Jersey), was a sad and lonely manual DT P38............ Anyway years ago the car was playing up and Wammers suggested the culprit was the quantity servo and not realising what and where that was I didn't change the pump straight away but eventually the penny...

P38A EAS approach and solenoids seals

Hi, Well the EAS finally seems to be working and the final problem seemed to be a slight leak on the inlet to the holding tank. So nipped that up and she seems good. I have put a gauge on the pump line and will probably leave that there. I also bought a kit for tyre pressure sesnors that...

P38A EAS approach and solenoids seals

Well I have been a bit of a numpty: Found that the socket the schrader valve was in was done up too tight and compressing the O ring and blocking the air flow. So slackened them and worked them more firmly on to the 6mm pipes. Then inflated around the 60/70PSI mark and up she went. SO far 24 hrs...

P38A EAS approach and solenoids seals

Thanks Guys, I do have them on the 6mm pipes to the bags, I wonder what I am doing wrong???? I will have a look during the week but tied into 14 - 16hrs a day at the moment.........

P38A EAS approach and solenoids seals

Thanks for the replies, Guys, all helpful and encouraging. 4x4bags seem a good price. So I did try getting the schraders to seal but trying to get some pressure in the bags seemed impossible. Bought a little tyre inflator from the autosomal that supposedly went to 150psi but destroyed...

P38A EAS approach and solenoids seals

Hi All, hope everyone is as ok as can be? I was hopping to have more info but stuck indoors because of the weather. EAS been going down. Changed the airbags (secondhand but looked like new). I did 'drop' the front axle on the jack when I lowered i too quickly. After changing the airbags she...

    The lemon drives like new

Wow, good job! Thanks for sharing think (that is quite motivating) I am at a similiar point but my list is different: EAS to sort out, FIP to change, ABS? and a bit of paint. Trouble is I am stuck on the drive. How are the springs?

P38A When do ball joints need changing?

Thanks Guys, that is useful, will give it a clean, see if can add some glue and perhaps even split an O ring and glue that around then coat with some CV grease. Saved me from myself there! Cheers

P38A When do ball joints need changing?

Having fixed the head lining with a tasteful job...... thought I should get mucky again so have changed the suspension air bags, have the EAS block out waiting for new seals (tonight hopefully). Currently also have the track rod out as both track rod ends were/are very wobble. whilst taking this...

    2.5 DSE, fuel pump maybe?

Would second don't buy the cheap pump....... don't ask how I know...... fitted a VDO pump second time. Both times dropped the tank. But you do need to lift the car up to get the tank out from under the car. Think I managed to drive it up on some concrete blocks. Good luck with it.

P38A Ah so that why the new second hand FIP is not running smoothly...........

I did biketeacherdave. Not sure what I had done wrong the first time I did it but think I hadn't got the pin in correctly as adjusting the top of the pump made little difference. This time when I moved the top of the pump there was considerable difference. Starting and running sweet at the...

P38A Ah so that why the new second hand FIP is not running smoothly...........

Flushed the fuel lines through and decided to have another look at the FIP I fitted new seals on but could not get it to run nicely. So swapped some bits and set it to the marks I put on the body, fitted and timed and engine ran away. Is someone had offered me a £5 or just to take her away...
