Hello, Anyone got hold of a SIII steering box recently? Having real trouble finding one. Lots of people listing refurbished units and original parts are in fact out of stock. If you got hold of one recently - where did you get it please! I have an aversion to blue packaging... Cheers J

Quick check of the oil bath being an issue would be to disconnect it and let the carb suck air without a filter (briefly) see how she runs. I would check the timing on the dizzy.

Got mine from fleabay genuine Bearmach. I had to separate the rad from the surrounding frame, fit the frame then bend the top out slide the rad in from the top and bend the top back in as holes wouldn't line us an assembly, but separating the frame first solved that. I never fit anything that...

I cured my clunking after changing the rear prop and it still happening by tightening up the U bolts holding the springs onto the rear axle. If the garage didn't tighten them up properly that would explain it.

Don't bother with this magnetic half shaft stub removers.... I wasted 2 days waiting for one to arrive, the diff still had to come out.

I've had similar grief, I now have a piece of L section ally bent to the right length to wedge against the drivers seat base to hold the pedal down overnight, I find this works when it's still a bit soft underfoot.

Thank you folks, for your advice. I had no idea there was an earth on the slam panel, cleaned that up and I'm now on everything functioning bar one headlamp which I assume is a bulb, I'll resume tinkering and cleaning connections once hurricane herbert has passed. Cheers J

Mine did this when I first bought it, just needed an oil change. I fitted a spin on oil filter adapter from Turner engineering after breaking the original one, this is much easier to live with if you do find its the filter housing.

This poster had tried a slide hammer, but if you haven't a slide hammer should work.

Agreed, test the battery. A quick test if you don't have a battery checker or multimeter is to put the headlamps on and turn on the wipers, if they're slow and the lights are yellow and dim - it's low. If they wont work at all it's flat. if the battery seems fine, you can test the stater...
