    Towbars

Hi All, Does anybody have any experience of fitting a towsure towbar & removable ball to a 2005 Freelander? It seems simple enough, but the instructions on the web say a small bumper cut is required - just how small is small? I don't need the electrics just now, but they also offer an...

    TD4 Flat Spot / Hesitation

Thanks all for the advice. When they replaced the MAF sensor, I turned up to collect it as they were finishing the job, so I guess it was done. The really annoying bit is the problem only happens intermittently and when it does, sometimes it just loses power, sometimes it feels normal as the...

    TD4 Flat Spot / Hesitation

Thanks Mondo, I should have added it's still under warranty, and I'm not keen on messing around with it 'cause if the dealers can't resolve the issue, they're getting it back! Cheers, --Graeme

    TD4 Flat Spot / Hesitation

Hi All, My 25000mile 55 plate TD4 has a hesitation / flat spot whilst pulling away. It normally happens after I've been driving at 60ish for 15 - 20 minutes. The problem feels like there is no power at all - when releasing the clutch, the revs drop off severely. It's possible to rev to 1700 and...

    Remote Locking Problem

Thanks Ming, I changed the battery and resync'd the keyfob and all seems well. Oddly, the second keyfob has started working as well.... Must just be one of those things. Cheers, --Graeme

    Remote Locking Problem

Thanks for the replies. I'll try changing the battery in the keyfob to see if it makes any difference. However, when the car is parked elsewhere it works from at least 15 metres away - must be some really bad interference at home. Cheers, --Graeme

    Remote Locking Problem

Hi All, I've just come back from a week away to find the remote locking on my TD4 doesn't work - but only when parked directly outside my house. If I move it 10 metres away it works fine every time. I've tried both remotes with the same problem. I'm guessing there's some radio interference...

2005 Freelander - Aux Power Socket

That's what I was thinking. The "Auxiliary Socket" accessory actually provides power to a socket in the loadspace/boot. It seems to have an direct connection to the battery with an inline fuse and a relay. I think the 20A feed is to power the rear centre console "aux" socket, and also switches...

2005 Freelander - Aux Power Socket

Thanks for the info all. I didn't know the centre console socket was available as an accessory. Sounds like the best plan for a the phone charger I'd like to wire the GPS power supply to the dash, so I'd still like to know if the socket on the fuse box does what I think. I guess it's a job...

2005 Freelander - Aux Power Socket

Replying to my own question... perhaps the fuse box socket is used for the centre console power socket (not fitted on mine) hence whilst the fuse socket can provide 20A, the aux (loadspace) socket only uses this as a switch for its own direct connection? Cheers, --Graeme

2005 Freelander - Aux Power Socket

My first post here so Hi Everybody! I've just got a 2005 Freelander TD4 and so far it's great :) However, I'm a bit disappointed there's no power socket for the rear seats. It would be the ideal place for a phone charger etc. I thought I could fit a dual power outlet in the space next to the...
