I took the pipe off and used a socket over the end, a bit of baton and tapped it with a hammer.

Has anyone else struggled with getting the end back in the cooler once the new O ring is on? I really can't get the bleeper back in. Any advice would be helpful, tried a bit of lube.

When Ive sorted out the leaks I will invest in the proper stuff - the rate Ive been getting through it wouldn't make sense. I think this might be the last coolant leak now, next stop is gearbox (the engine doesn't leak at all!), then sunroofs before winter sets in.

It's on a 50% mix but it's a light yellow colour- according to the label it can mix with any coolant and suitable for all vehicles.

Thanks - it's not the pump. Ive just replaced it and it's on the other side of the engine.

Hi, Ive been working on reducing the number (not eliminating) of leaks my Disco TD5 (1999) has. I'm slightly stuck on this one - it looks like coolant is coming out of this cylinder below the injectors - see photos. Any ideas on how to fix? Many thanks

Ok, it looks like the engine coolant has somehow got into the PAS - explains milky pas fluid, hot pas fluid and drop in the coolant. So is there a PAS cooler that could have burst a seal and somehow have been filled with coolant?

It looked to me like the coolant was coming out from behind the water pump but this only started as I released pressure on the system, having pulled over due to the needle rising 3/4 of the way - this was 10 mins after I had dropped off the caravan, kids and clobber. The power steering fluid...

Not too sure on the coolant type, it's not lost any before but Ive only had it a month (done about 1200 miles with no coolant or PAS issues). It lost probably a pint or two - I think it might be the seal on the water pump that's gone.

All sorted now - thanks for the advice. The intake pipe was fine, cleaned up and put new flexi conduit on the battery cables and attempted the EGR pipe removal - thats a tricky job. It seems my allen bolts are pre knackered for me, so rather than snap them I have crimped the pipe and welded up...

Having done a bit of reading it looks like someone has bodged the EGR blank job and I'm guessing the gasses coming out are HOT. Ordered a blank plate and will fit, hopefully no electrical problems actually exist but I will get some new cable sheaf.
