The P38 2.5 dse i have is hard to start when the engine is warm / hot, is this a common fault ...is there an easy ...cheap cure ..

After i had the filter and fluid changed the gearbox was just the same, perhaps its just how an auto box works in an P38, so i will probs just sell as it is or sell it off for parts, thanks to everyone for your advice

Filter and oil on order..lets hope it works The next problem to sort is the heater buttons dont work, the light comes on to say i,v pressed the button..but air still only comes out of screen demist ....any idears on that one...

Re changing gear box filter and oil, i checked the oil on the dipstick and it looks very clean.

Is the gearbox ecu coded to the vehicle, or is it somthing i can get second hand and just plug in..( any idear where its located )

There is no fault lights on, when i drive it slow, around car parks etc its fine, but on the road its slow to change up and wont go into top gear ( possibly the last two gears !) it just does not seem right.

No black smoke to speak of, if i use the kick down on auto box there is the slightest amount but nothing to worrie about, its had a service less than 1000 miles ago and the filter looks new.
