    Finally got another Freelander...

Is it the body or just the bolts and stuff underneath etc?

    Finally got another Freelander...

Is that the early models or facelifts? I only like facelift ones tbh but I did have an L series Anniversary model once upon a time

    Finally got another Freelander...

10 years ago when I last looked at Freelanders, there were plenty of dogs, but none rusty. I don't think I've ever seen a rusty one. Has time caught up with them?

    Finally got another Freelander...

I had a very nice series 3 : https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/my-new-series-3-109-welding-question.106639/ It was very solid, only rust was a passenger floor and a single outrigger, both of which I replaced. It was still dead unreliable, dead horrid to drive if you appreciate any form...

    Finally got another Freelander...

So.... I'm getting the Freelander bug again. This was my last one and it was a good one, especially after all the work I did but the rear diff blew it guts out and locked up at 85mph on the A34 which wasn't fun. That was when I'd swore I'd never get another Freelander again. Bloody...

...which turned out to be a 7 hour job!!! :( Damn, I thought getting the nut off the belt tresnioner on the TD4 was bad until I tried to do get the lower bolt off the thermostat housing on my VW van! NEVER again... My hands and fingers are painfully sore. But i have warm air in my van for the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Cool! I'd be up for that! I wanted to paddle all our floods, but there's far too many barb wire fences about and a bit of a flow so not a good idea at all.. :( Oh, done nothing to my Freelander today- too busy looking at Alfa GTs and X Trails to replace it with.

What have you done to your Freelander today

That's very true. I've lost confidence in my Freelander now. His turbo blew after a couple of weeks of him buying it, but easy enough to change. The oil drain pipe on it is very small IIRC. Combine that with poor turbo maintenance, 'extended' oil changes and being up front behind the rad might...

What have you done to your Freelander today

I'm beginning to hear you... I just find the styling so boring. The interior is very well thought out and I love the cup heaters/coolers and the secret heated pasty locker in the dash. Just all feels a bit cheap, despite being very good build quality. The 6th gear is a bonus and it really flies...

    ronbox vs other's

I thought mine was quite pokey on 10. Then after I got mine off the tow truck, I took my mates DCi X Trail for a spin (136bhp). It revs light and freely like a petrol whereas mine feels a bit sluggy, and his really flies in 3rd. Hmm....

I'm looking for a new house with big garage and I'll put an old dishwasher in there as they're great, so I'm told.

    opinion needed ,please comment

My stat went in really easy - I heard it was a pig but I lubed it with neat red coolant then pushed it in with a socket (pipe not removed from rad) a bit at a time. I walked it in if that makes sense, with a screwdriver when the socket wouldn't do it. It's easy, cheap and really works.

    Td4 injector advise

Have some fun reading through here- the injector saga is there too... http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/finally-got-another-freelander-237094.html You're really going to enjoy getting the old ones out and cleaning up the injector holes. You really MUST clean the seats- the tool is only £15 or...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Spent 7 hours organising and waiting for recovery to take the pile of ****e home! :( Turns out my 'free' breakdown recovery only covers 10 miles. Not much use when I'm 82 miles from home and regularly commute 100 miles each way. Today was the first I knew of this. Spent ages phoning around but...
