    lubrication for lpg v8 "s

I run a 3.9 efi with sequential LPG, I was advised that flash lube was not nessesary. Having done nearly 25,000 miles without any probs that advice appears to be valid.

    Hot wire AFM

Thanks for the advise. The ignition is set to 10 degrees BTDC for the gas use 97 ron petrol. I did as suggested and unplugged the ECU. After reconnecting car started instantly whereas before took a few churns to start, also hot restart was instant where it had needed a good cranking before. Will...

    Hot wire AFM

When I had it MOTed, the examiner commented that it was ok on LPG but very lean on petrol. Unfortunatley I didn,t keep a note of the petrol reading. Although only starting on petrol would like to have it set correctly so need to find someone with a gas analyser on Sussex/Surrey border. Cheers Nick

    Hot wire AFM

I have reset the AFM to 1.5 volts but the gas analyser suggests the engine is running very lean not rich. Luckily it only starts on petrol then switches to LPG. I did, by accident, drive it with the AFM diconnected so I will disconnect the ECU as suggested and see what happens. Cheers Nick

    Hot wire AFM

Gents I have a 3.9efi RRC running an entirely standard non cat hot wire system. Can anyone tell if there is a special procedure for resetting the relationship between the AFM and the ECU after I have run the engine with the AFM disconected.

I bought a nice 3.9 and gassed it. The car, refurb, and lpg conversion cost me 4K. It is a great vehicle and people with new RR,s stop and ask about it. If you allow for deprecciation as well as day to day running costs it is cheaper than a TD5 or D3. V8 LPG is possible if you acknoweldge that...

    4.6 into 3.9

Thanks for all the advise. Going to keep it as standard as possible. Maybe fit 4.0 pistons to raise CR slightly as on LPG, also gas flow heads ,inlet manifold, and use headman headers. Was going to keep cam standard as auto so need easy low down power. Cheers Nick
