D4 - Are they worth the risk?

Appreciate all the enlightenment. I've watched the videos including a couple by L R Time where he suggests that the crank issues were likely caused by football matches going the wrong ways resulting in moody engineers on Monday mornings. Definitely I will be changing oil every 5000 miles...

D4 - Are they worth the risk?

Unfortunately no warranties seem available for anything over twelve years old

D4 - Are they worth the risk?

Don't like the hand grenade analogy. That's sure to ruin my peace of mind on any long journey.

D4 - Are they worth the risk?

Very keen to buy a D4. I've found a decent 70k mile HSE and all seems good but nagging at the back of my mind is the whole crankshaft issue. Is it worth playing Russian roulette with £15 grand or is the whole problem overblown? Would be grateful for real world advice

    Specialist in Norfolk?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a specialist garage in Norfolk for servicing and general maintenance of late model L322? Would appreciate any info.

    New Discovery Owner

I paid a bit over £6k but it went in for a service straight away and I added a pair of tyres to match the new Maxxis ones it had so now stands me in at about £6.5k - I have a list of things that I would like to do. Drivers seat is really good but I'm going to put a new seat foam in as it's a bit...

    Disco 2 Price guide

I don't know why they bother with price guides as they are not even vaguely helpful other than in allowing gullible owners to sell for less than they are worth. As soon as a car is of a certain vintage it is in effect unique as hundreds of variable come into play beginning with the original spec...

    New Discovery Owner

I made a start today on the rear chassis and peripherals. All looks good and I have got as much off as I could and then coated with the Hydrate 80. Looking at this long term it seems absolutely obvious that if this is going to work then you need to take out the fuel tank as it's obscuring way...

    Disco 2 Mild Performance Upgrades

So Mike visited today and did the work. Fascinating to see the process and to understand a bit more about the vehicle ECU map and how it was originally programmed and also why it is not necessarily correct to leave it like that. Anyway have driven the car I am very impressed and simply the car...

    Disco 2 Mild Performance Upgrades

Hi Paul - thanks for that. Interesting that you note the EGR deletion is of very little use if the standard set up is in good fettle. Do you have anybody you know in the West Mids to do the Turbo boost pressure?

    Disco 2 Mild Performance Upgrades

I have a very good low mileage completely standard 2003 td5. It hums along nicely but there are aspects of the performance I would love to improve most of all not having to really boot it to get any sort of acceleration. My local independent is not a fan of any of the obvious changes thinking...

    Value. Disco landmark

With 45,000 miles it should be in exceptional condition and I have seen cars with that mileage sell for closer to 10k than 5 recently. Regarding the low mileage it really just common sense if the condition reflects that. May be a heap of things wron with the car if its not been looks after but...

Disco 2 Highly priced car. Values?

Very hard to think of anything else that would fill the space the D2 occupies. I thought of an L322 but in the end it seemed a bit OTT for my purposes. Added to that I think the Discovery is a much better looking car and has a very purposeful feel. I am completely blown away by the feel of this...

Disco 2 Highly priced car. Values?

There's a V8 Es on ebay at the moment https://www.qualitycarstoday.co.uk/vehicle-details/Land-Rover-Discovery-V8i-ES-Auto-U449/ priced at almost £11k. Price guides suggest the 2 has a high end value of about £6k but I see cars coming on for a lot more and they do seem to be selling. Perhaps they...
