    What Chassis is This??

Finally looks like I am making progress. I think it is an 80 inch. I was informed it was a LWB but having measured it and reviewed the 80 inch frame diagrams I have they seem to match, It appears the 80 had straight bulkhead out riggers and the curved ones look like they were introduced with...

    What Chassis is This??

Hi All, Does anyone recognise this chasiss which I am helping a freind get rid of. He thought it was a series 1 maybe 107 (need to measure) but the Bulkhead outriggers look wrong to me. There is the Holes/Guides on the drivers side for the Clutch and Brake shafts but not one for the Master...

Importing RHD 2012 Land Rover Defender 90 into Germany

How did you get on with the import after you know what. I imported 2 into Austria and, although hassle as chassis numbers were not on chassis etc did it ok in the end and tax was straight forward. If anyone is importing into Austria I will happily share my experience

    Series 2a Clutch Release

Anyway seem to finally have a clutch of sorts. So if I follow the manual as per above I end up with too little active travel on the push rod to operate the clutch so you need either a longer push rod or as I did move the clutch shaft passed where the book says on a couple of splines. Problem...

    Series 2a Clutch Release

Thanks for that, on first look, as you say, it looks like the shaft is in the wrong position. I put that together over a year ago and cannot remember what process was used. Looks like it could be a set up issue. Will take engine out and see if it is set up as per you pics. really helpful thanks

    Series 2a Clutch Release

Thanks for that but the pushrod is far too low to connect to the slave cylinder hence the problem. The pic I posted is trying to show the location of the holes ie are they in the correct position???

    Series 2a Clutch Release

Hi All, Nearing the end of my 2a Part restore (mainly engine, gearbox, transfer and overdrive rebuilds plus chassis work) and dropped the engine into the already fitted gearbox (needed to be done first as moved Landy and needed handbrake). Engine mated ok although took a bit of effort and today...

Valve/Cam timing Petrol 2.25- am I over thinking this??

Ok I have given some thought on this. It seems that on the factory marks 'P' and with the crank keyway pointing up the timing is 180 degrees out ie exhaust just closed and inlet valve just about to open on induction stroke . So if I set it up per the book the timing will be out by the 180 which...

Valve/Cam timing Petrol 2.25- am I over thinking this??

Here is the old cam which is I hope the same as the new, Number one lobe lined up with the keyway (this I have checked with new one) Number 4 is 90 deg to number one. As the keyway is aligned with the P on the sprocket number one lobe is where the P is (or should be). Still confused here
