ok just got my haynes manual back, had a look and i do have a new amplifier it came already on the distributor ran a wire from battery teminal to coil and no sparks. trying to get hold of something that tells me how many volts are going through, really at a loss now

come and do mine having exact same prob lol

no only place i can find an ign amp is britishparts site?? any other places or is this it

no that wasnt replaced, coil cannot be totally dead can it as was brand new yesterday, so how will i know if it s the amp? or do i have to buy a new one to check? Louise

ave checked all wires etc had my head under the bonnet for more than 4hours yesterday checking wires hoses etc that they were all in place and clamped down. Going to wiggle the dizzy today see what happens maybe shes knocked out of alignment???? is that possible.

no now as there nothing coming from the coil the ht leads the spark plugs nothing, how do i test the red wire?

nope not fuses just checked them all unless theres some more somewhere, the onlyone under the bonnet are 2 15amp which arnt used as im asuming they are for spotlights that were removed before my ownership

it is a genuine rotor arm a dizzy cap and dizzy only been in 6days. i have no idea if range rover will be same ive just spent £39 on a brand new coil and still no joy

any reason why both coils old and new are not letting sparks out but are working?

nope dont think it has well i havent got an imobiliser key anyhows narrowed it down to the coil not letting sparks out this is what the old one was doing aswel. £200 lol ive spent more than that on new parts in the last 3 weeks :p id rather keep her if i can get her reliable.

so beg of feb disco broke down, had tests done was told it was distributor, had that fitted got working again, orderd new spark plugs oil filter etc, shes been driving fine for 6 days then just cut out on me, had road side recovery he had a look and said it was the coil, been out got a new coil...

i orderd the NGK but if they dont work out i will get the champions, just waiting on them now doing an oil change aswel hopefully that will give her her energy back

Can anyone recommend a good set of spark plugs please, just had to clean mine to keep her going so have to order some asap but theres so many brands i dont know which to get lol Thanks in advance shes a 3.5v8i

well given her a good clean today had jet wash on and got rid of a ton of rust and dirt found my spring footstep on the back is completely rusted and dead on one side and the underneath doesnt look too pretty either but chasey dunno if i spelt that right looks sound, the handbrake isnt working...
