The gearbox seems ok. No obvious whines or howls. However, 1st gear has just decided to quit staying selected. If at a junction you select 1st and don't load it on the clutch, it will just flop back to N. I'm hoping there is something external on the gearbox that could cause it? Cheers Chur

Has anyone built a Defender from new parts? How does it stack up financially? Been plotting a rebuild, and figure in this case I would end up with a new landy with a few old bits. May as well just build what I want using the best bits from over the years. Chur

Has anyone else had this issue after filling up? When I look under the car, the breather from the top of the tank terminates just above the chassis rail, near the suspension link. It has no check valve to stop fuel flowing out. Should it have one? I filled up and the fuel spoffed out the end...
