    if the glow plugs only helped emissions when running cold and not cold starting then there would be no point in the timer for glow plugs when you turn the key. Therefore Land Rover think they do help cold starting. Whilst it is true that you only need fuel+compression to fire a diesel engine...

    Broken or Missing Diff Lock 1996 Disco Auto

    Better than messing around with lights and linkages - what you want to know is whether the diff is actually locking or not. - Make sure there is a few yards space in front just for safety and on level ground - Put a bottle jack under O/S end of one axle and raise the wheel just off the ground...

    thanx for the help - yes the bulbs are different brightness and nearside connector has melted at some stage. I'll change both connectors and bulbs. That should be an easy fix ..........:rolleyes: cheers David

    whaddya mean only 22 mpg :confused: I have had 200 and 300Tdi, manual and auto - IMV: 200Tdi slightly better mpg than 300 Tdi manual 10 mpg better than auto removing viscous fan slightly better but on my calculations not pay back the cost of leccy fan for a few years MTs 10-20% worse...

    Anyone had this one? When full beam is on there is a continuous ticking from the area around the centre console or heater controls (my hearing isn't good enough to pinpoint it better).
