has anyone had the fololwing problem or can advise me on it?? the steering on my 54 plate td6 vouge has gone really heavy, when i turn of the engine and start it back up it go's back to normal for a few seconds (nice and light) and then heavy again... if any one can help me it would be...

the problem is that when the car is put into drive there is nothing happening at all, just reving up and going nowhere.... i have had a land rover mechanic look at it and confirm that i need a new gearbox, i was looking for info on where to buy a recon one??

forgot to mention that i am in edinburgh scotland, my car is diesel and i have had a land rover technician look at it and confirm that it is my gear box...thanx for the replies....
