Got all the cv kits to do it this weekend but didn't think they could cause any problems with the steering while stationery I'm not much of a mechanic though just a man with a Haynes manual and a basic toolkit kind of guy I do enjoy it though

Hi guys having some trouble replaced the swivel bearings the other week as there was alot of play on the drivers wheel this however has not cured the knocking or the steering locking up from time to time when stationary I have bought all the bits to do cv joints and wheel bearings both sides but...

Thanks for the replies guys its a 300tdi non abs the part that jamesmartin mentioned i think is the one but the mention of 10 and 24 spline diffs on the same year has thrown me a bit

Hi guys need to replace the cv joints on my m reg disco but on paddocks website they have an option for 10 and 24 spline diff options and im not sure which to order can anyone tell me which it willl be without having to strip it first thanks for any help

Hi guys my alarm on my 300 tdi keeps going off in the middle of the night for no reason is there anyway i can lock the car without arming it or does any one have any other suggestions thanks for any help

changed diff oils and transfer box oils and re sealed the sump that was a right pain

Thanks mate will give it some consideration whats the chances that the seal will fail completley and leave me goosed at the side of the motorway

Hi guys my 300tdi has recently been leaking badly at one point last month it used nearly a litre of oil in a 300 mile round trip anyway this past weekend i have re sealed the sump and replaced the gasket on the rocker cover and sorted the leak on the oil breather andthings seem alot drier...

Alright guys bought a whole new sedimenter as i had no confidence in draining the old one anyway tried to remove it today but its been messed with before and the nuts on the fuel pipe have been rounded Decided to have a go at draining it and after spending some time managed to ease the plastic...

hi guys just had a problem with my gearbox i pulled over to the side of the road and put the car in neutral when i went to set off again it would only go in 5th and was very stiff. check the water level all the time as i had to fit a new header tank last weekend as it had split (terrible design )thanks for the info though its good to get a general understanding of the engine and how it works cheers.
