    Help please leaking air con!

To everyone who tried to help, many thanks. However, if was obvious that I wasn’t going to be able to fix it, so brought the Defender back for a friend who is a motor engineer to look at. The problem was a rubber drain situated above the gearbox. It had obviously become clogged up, and when it...

Thanks, whilst not actually relevant to this problem, a lot of very useful information there which I will save for future reference.

    Help please leaking air con!

I think you are probably right. It was operating at max just prior to the first trace of water. What I need to know is how to check/reattach the drain pipe!

    Help please leaking air con!

Well it is! Defender air con is never the best in the world, but when it first started to leak it was a particularly hot day 30+and it was on re circulate and full fan. It maybe that the condensate pipe has either become detached or blocked. With respect, I need to know how to locate and check that.

    Help please leaking air con!

No, it’s a significant amount of water, not just a small amount. The mats are thoroughly soaked, and the floor underneath is running with water. Have to leave the door open and the mats folded back to get them to dry.

    Help please leaking air con!

On holiday with my husband who is recovering from surgery, so is unable to help. Our 2014 Defender 90 has a very wet passenger footwell, definitely not coolant, it emanates from behind gear stick in the centre console, so am fairly sure it’s air con. The air con is still working (thankfully in...

Defender 90 - What is this?

Yes, but Fingers Crossed!! I must confess that each time I turn the key I half expect to hear it. The very first time I actually thought one of the LR production people had left a socket on the floor behind the seat. It sounded just like one rolling from one side to the other.

Defender 90 - What is this?

Well, nothing to account for the noise could be found, but after an almighty din which sounded like huge ball bearings inside the bulkhead, the noise (fingers crossed) appears to have stopped! How bizarre is that?

Defender 90 - What is this?

The jack and associated bits is in the box under the passenger seat. The jack was strapped in tightly. However, took everything out, and wrapped it all in bubble wrap, just in case, and put it all back Still the same problem. Checked under the drivers seat too, nothing of note there to cause...

Defender 90 - What is this?

I mean brand spanking new hot off the production line, which makes it more puzzling! Noise only occurs when driving. Not at regular intervals either. Have heard reports previously of disgruntled workers hanging nuts by fishing thread inside colums, but..............????

Defender 90 - What is this?

Been round Land Rovers for rather longer than I would care to say, and last week took delivery of a new Defender 90. Love it, EXCEPT there is a very strange metallic noise which appears to come from the floor/bulkhead behind the seats. If I didn't know, I would have said that there was a metal...

Rear metal strip - before bumper.

Its a 1994 - '95 model year. Its actually the bit that actually lies under the door when closed, I don't think it could be plastic as its an integral part of the body. If you look at the rear bumper, there is a tread plate on top of the bumper, and then behind that going inwards to the car is...

Rear metal strip - before bumper.

Help please! Firstly, what is the rear strip called that basically goes behind the rear bumper and under the back door -its a double dog leg shape. There must be a disco owner there who knows what I mean - its the one that goes rusty! :) Secondly, is it possible to buy one ready manufactured...
