hmm my classic 93 lse has 235's I haven't noticed any rubbing shoud I be looking to change?

Sender unit would be my guess, as my 93 4.2 lse has the same issue hopefully someone can tell us where this is as i cant find any wires leading to my tank at all

I was actually able to fix the problem through one of the air vents

Glad you got sorted, it cost me £850 to get my LPG system certificated on a 4.2 LSE 93 Classic. I did get the car fairly cheap so I reckon I am still in pocket. Out of interest how far are you able to travel on a tank full? Mine is only returning about 130 miles which just aint good enough
