Thanks Mate but it floods easily when it does not start immediately so I guess it is not fuel.

Thanks guys but in true RR style sometimes it does it other times starts first time so trying to work out a scenario is hopeless. Today it has been started about 10 times and would only not fire immediately once.

P38 4.6 HSE 1997. Up near the filler itself there is a thing called a fuel/vapour seperator according to RAVE i wonder if that could be dodgy?:confused:

Its a 1997 4.6 HSE. Is there some kind of breather tube causing it do you think.

Strong smell of petrol around the filler cap area after use. Not there if vehicle is not used so can't be a permanent leak. No obvious signs of leaks. Have ordered a new filler cap worth a go for only £7:50 but has anyone else got any ideas. Breather tube ??? By the way to all those who kindly...

Quite easy to find the proper replacement P38 part on e-bay and not that expensive from memory about £12 for a pair

After replacing just about every gasket and seal have found the source of the oil leak on my 97 4.6 HSE. There is a minute hole in the bottom of the sump. Can tis be repaired or welded or are we talking a new one if so any idea on price . Cheers guys.

Had a service 3 weeks ago oil change and new sump gasket great no leaks any more. Went for a long run yesterday and this morning a nice 6'' clean oil patch on the drive. I give up!

Getting new discs and pads on mine soon. Not MOT failure only advice but they won't get any better. Any advice on best type/ supplier/cost - gratefully received.
