C is for cylinder i think If its gone get it sorted quick i say mine went and it went bad took me 3 oil changes one after the other to get most of the crap out inc engine flush and then i had to clean all my water pipes as every one was full of mayo had to get a new rad the lot and mines still...

It feels ok to me my dad says it feels sluggish in 4th and 5th also it seems to want to stall if your doing around 35 and pop it in 5th and theres a slight splutter at low revs. Thanks

Ive done a couple of 1.4 k series engines and there pretty much the same to do and they where ok and first time starters but this engines being a bugger its getting a little better but not much :5bbanghead: i want it fixed so i can sell it for a diesel freelander.

Yea it got very hot there was a fualt with the gasket in the end it was thinner and out of shape one side not by much but it was leaking at that section so i guess it was enough ive changed it now and it seems fine its just the struggling to start i need to sort now.

I changed my HG for the secondtime the other day the car now works fine but it takes a few turns to start now sometimes more if i give it some foot it starts first tim sometimes. Anyone know what this could be? Thanks, Ethan

Is there a lindleys in ireland? for a test and skim i think its £70 for just a skim its £45 and he did it in a day for me. It was the gasket it seemed flatter and sort of out of shape on the bit that was near the leak i never even moved the car and it was leaking the new gasket i fitted today...

Thanks, ive fitted the new HG now and bled it and it seemed better the pipes still filled wth some air but not as bad as before the heaters are all working ok all pipes get hot so il see how it goes... it does take a few turns to start though it seems to be starting better after a couple of...

It was my head gasket i got my head gasket from lindleys too and my head skimmed there i got a duff one the first time which was the one that was leaking so make sure you check it over first. How come you bought a new had was it cracked?

Mine also has this problem ive now taken the head off for a new head gasket.. what else could it of been? i hope it was the HG now..

Also is there any checks i can do while the engine is in bits to make sure its not just completly buggered to save me spending £40 on a new HG. Thanks
