last year at my MOT i was given an advisory caution because the cat converter had a rattle inside - bits were loose and they rattled on the overrun. well, mot coming up again and still rattling...but can someone tell me whats in a cat, what would cause the rattling, would a bad rattle cause it...

xmas morning not only froze up my vapouriser, it froze the cooling system too...so i now have a noisy water pump bearing I've had a gander and the pump looks accessible...but can it be replaced fairly easy? are there any hidden perils that i should look out for pls thks, slice
