Hi Matt, I also have a 3.9EFI and i developed a high performance engine oil filter so i know the answer.... yes all of the older Rover V8's have the same filter thread size - 3/4-16UNF-2B. If your new one doesnt fit then maybe your supplier cocked up and gave you the wrong one by mistake...

when i bought my landy 2 years ago i flushed the engine and put valvoline 15/40 semi synthetic in..no particular reason but it was expensive so i thought it must be good a friend said castrol magnatec is the best there is someone else said such a old design engine will run better on mineral oil...

hi warren also new to the landy zone. i have a 1998 disco 1 with 3.9 V8. getting 15 to 17mpg on lpg with bags of power - cant notice drop in power when switching over from unleaded round cheshire i pay between 46 to 52 pence per litre for lpg the V8 is just great and sounds awesome...
