    OBD2 Readings

Quick update. Just got a chance to move the car somewhere really dark. Just looks like St Elmo's Fire now - ghostly blue glow from the base of all the plug leads. I guess the leads on 3 and 5 are just easier to see. Even managed to make my hand glow at one point!

    OBD2 Readings

Of course. But I'd still like to know what the OBD readings for a nominally working P38 are. Cheers Dave

    OBD2 Readings

It didn't. Just that running on 7 1/2 Cylinders feeling. Probably something to do with one of the LPG injectors deciding that permanently on was a good thing. As it happens, running it in the dark, I can see arcing on plugs 3 and 5. Nothing too serious but all contributing to the general...

    OBD2 Readings

Evening all, After a fun day chasing down a new misfire it occurred to me whilst staring at the OBD readings on my laptop that I have absolutely no idea what what a fully working P38 4.6 looks like from a diagnostic point of view. So does anybody have a set of readings for reference? I...

    Yet another overheating P38

The other thought was a simple capacitive sensor on the header tank. However I can't see through mine as it's totally opaque - if anybody has a spare I'm more than willing to have a play (especially if anybody knows where the level sits when hot and running!) I'm great fan of things that go...

    Yet another overheating P38

The main reason I bought this shed was it had just had a replacement engine. 40K miles later it went bang (standard liners). Funnily enough, I started playing with a coolant leak detection design last year (I've also got an Elise that has "issues" occaisionaly). The big problem is tapping a...

    Yet another overheating P38

Thought it's about time I posted an update. I ordered the magic goo and when I was about to use it, a liner let go big time... Water just geysering out of the header tank. All fixed now courtesy of Mr Turner's one-shot top-hat linered engine replacement. As of today my new least favourite...

    Yet another overheating P38

No, I don't like that answer. I'm after a more sort of rose-tinted "Simply jack the left hand side up by 17 inches, twiddle something that's not mentioned in any service manual and then re-bleed. Problem sorted" I've ordered some irontite...:) Dave

    Yet another overheating P38

Hi All. I thought I'd pick some collective brains before bowing to the (expensive) inevitable. I've had my P38 for 3 years - bought it because it had LPG and was on a 5000 mile old recon engine. Apart from everything else that's dropped off, needed replacing etc. it's run absolutely fine for...
