    300 tdi broken glow plug

Scared the **** out of me, I gave up expecting it to go a LONG time ago, I'd just about forgotten about it, the advice was still good though, it did come out on its own....... EVENTUALLY.

    300 tdi broken glow plug

Soooooooooooo, after a little over 2 years and several thousand miles, the broken tip of the glow plug finally decided it didn't want to stay in there anymore. Muffled bang, rough running engine and a hole blown in the matting/insulation under the bonnet. Luckily I'd left a socket and plug...

    OE parts....expensive, but better

I will very rarely touch anything in a blue box (Britpart = Sh*tpart), never heard a good word about most of their stuff, and my local parts place doesn't stock their bits as a rule. However there are some perfectly good aftermarket bits, you just have to be a bit careful what your buying.

    New cross member

I fitted one of Pressbrakes crossmembers (Black sheep offroad), I won't need to ever fit another one, that's pretty cost effective, especially seeing as it cost the same to have fitted as a cheap one, but was only slightly dearer.

    300 tdi broken glow plug

Well my mate has had a look and we've basically decided that if it ain't broke (even though it is:rolleyes:) we're going to just leave it and see what happens. I'll just have to keep a socket and new glow plug on the passenger seat:D:D.

    amr 4974 Siren.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure I've said 'Aftermarket cat 1' alarm on my insurance.

    amr 4974 Siren.

Soooooooooooooooo, get home this afternoon, minding my own business, turn ignition off and alarm starts sounding with smoke pouring out the front of the passenger side wing..... What the actual fook?? After a very brief panic, I jumped out and managed to disconnect the battery. Alarm still...

    300 tdi broken glow plug

Well I've done 3 return trips to work so far over the weekend, and she's still running sweet as a nut, so I may well be in the same boat mate, I'm working again tonight, and I'm going to let my mate have a look in the morning when I finish, I'm a bit reluctant to take the head off as well just...

    New exhaust needed TD5

Well as far as my 300tdi is concerned, I've never touched the front section of exhaust, I fitted a straight stainless midsection about 4 years ago, and I treat the back section as a consumable and get roughly 2 ish MOT's out of one before its scrap. However the back section I bought for my last...

    300 tdi broken glow plug

Aye, the new plug and sockets are on the passenger seat. I think a lot of the confusing answers were my fault to be fair, not being clear and not knowing the right name for stuff, we got there in the end though. My mate is very handy with Landys, so hopefully he'll sort this job out, and failing...
