Cd player to fit a 1996 Disco

Dave I think, from memory, there's a seperate black two pin connector to the L.Rover head end with a thickish black and Red cable inserted. You cut that cable and join the +ve & -ve from one or both of the RCA line output sockets from the JVC head end. The power wiring to the amp is in the...

Cd player to fit a 1996 Disco

I put a 1 din Inphase MP3/CD/USB slot/SD reader and bluetooth head unit in my 95 Disco. It's real neat 'cos the when my mobile rings it just cuts through to the car stereo, even if it's switched off. Only cost £90, works a treat. I hooked up the rear sub woofer too (I've got an ES), no problems...

How to change Cruise Control Switch Disco 1 ES 3.9 V8

Hi All My steering wheel cruise control switch is playing up, I was thinking of removing it and giving it a good clean out with electrical contact cleaner as I think the kids may have split drinks into it while playing around the inside of the car during the summer, (it no longer has a positive...

Discovery 1995 ES Water Ingress Passenger Footwell

Mike Like I told you, it will be your blocked air con drain pipes from the internal expansion unit on the inside of the car. I had the same problem all the under carpets soaked and all that. I blasted the two drain pipes from underneath the car (behind the engine block just in front of the...

Discovery 1995 ES Water Ingress Passenger Footwell

I had this problem as well. It turned out it was the two overflow pipes from the tray beneath the air conditioning condeser unit being blocked and the melted ice then flows underneath the carpets into the footwell. just blast the pipes clear with an air line from underneath the car that...

    Serpentine Belt

I had the same prob. In the end used a VERY long bar to push the tensioner down and the new belt fitted OK. That belt needs to be under a serious amount of tension, I wouldn't have fitted a longer belt.

    98 3.9 V8 Petrol / LPG Disco 1 bad starting

Hi All I've got a 98 3.9 V8 ES Disco 1 which has been converted to run on LPG. I've had her for nearly 3 years now and everting is fine BUT I've got one nagging problem, she's a bugger to start, don't get me wrong she ALWAYS starts but it can take 5 to 10 seconds of the starter motor turning...

Changing auxillary belt on 3.9 V8 ES Auto

Nobody replied so I had a go at changing it myself! Three words sum it up best, "what a pig". I guess the LR garage must use some sort of special tool to move the pre-tensioner pully into the correct position so that the belt goes on. I just used a two foot long bit of metal conduit pipe and...

Changing auxillary belt on 3.9 V8 ES Auto

I'm thinking of changing the aux belt on my Discovery 1 1995 3.9 V8 ES Auto. Is there anything to watch out for? Does anyone know if it has a pre tensioner built in? Would I be better off letting the garage change it for me, or am I worrying about nothing? Ta Ray

    Rear Step

Can anyone tell me if a hydraulic rear step for a Disco 2 will fit a Disco 1? I've got a tow bar fitted to my disco 1, but quite fancy a rear step so the kids can get in & out more easily. ta ray

    Another newbie

Hi All Just bought a 96 Disco ES. V8 Petrol 3.9Ltr (I think) Auto. 88K on the speedo, just had a brand new LPG system fitted with twin underslung tanks. I needed a bit more towing power/ratio for my caravan than my 307 Peugeot could offer! Seems to run fine on the gas, I also have an 04...
