Problem solved - replaced the bulbs, which both looked fine, and all working. I was also looking at the high lights and not the brake lights on the lower bumper (thanks for the tip). The higher lights with the reverse lights don't work, or at least I can't figure out what they are for...

Checked the bulbs and both look fine although I might still take the precaution of replacingthem just to eliminate them as the problem. I assume the centre high is on separate wiring given it still works?

Rear side brake lights aren't working but high centre brake light (above spare tyre) is working. The reversing lights also work so it's not the fuse, which I have double ckecked and I have also checked both globes. Any ideas on what to try next??? :confused:

Now have it back from service and dealers claim it just needed a software upgrade. Definitely running better but I'm yet to be convinced it's 100%.

My MY04 Freelander TD4 (Auto) runs rough or misses at idle. Problem is inconsisitent - sometimes its fine while other times its rough - to varying degrees. When revved in neutral, while idling rough, it produces a white/blue smoke which clears after returning to tick over. It drives ok...
