I will check the compresion, but I find this hard to believe as the engine only smokes a little bit when first started cold the main problem is that you have to crank it over for at least 7 seconds before it will start if you switch it off it will start back in a flash but leave it for about 3...

My bet is its the Hand Brake try backing off the adjuster a few turns.

Ianda12 is spot on, we have repaired many of these leaks it is best to replace all the above items, it is unlikley it will be the head gasket, allso take off the timing cover and check the coolant pump is not leaking allso, and dont forget to use the Havoline Etended Life coolant.
