Are you definitely looking for a defender? I carry lots of cg125s in the back of my disco 2. Lots more room in there than you think.

Well I finally got around to sorting this out. Nothing I did would fix it so I fitted a new steering box (took me two weekends!) but its all fixed now and has absolutely no play :clap2:

My new td5 is a bit of a bitch at the diesel pumps, It always splashes and cuts off the pump and sometimes it spits out diesel even if I stopped the pump seconds ago. I can also here it 'gargling' the fuel down. Is this normal and has anyone got any ideas how to fix this? its getting really...

Cheers for the info andymach, I have just got the disco and realised that the font tyres are unevenly worn, the tracking was something I was going to sort out after the vague steering. Il try n change the wheels round tomorrow if adjusting the steering box doesn't work.

I havnt tried it yet, waiting for the weather. Will give it a go and report back tomorrow.

I thought that at first but there is no play, they all turn with the slightest turn of the steering wheel. That's why I think it might be the box.

My td5 discovery has about 5-6 cm of play on the steering wheel, i had a search and found it could be the ujs or the ball joint at the front. I had a check and all the ujs are turning in unison and the ball joint only has a small bit of play. Does this mean that it has to be the steering box...

Anyone does this? I've seen one thread that says it can't be done but I don't believe it. Anyone got any pictures if you've done it?

I wouldn't be bothered about the swap but the insurance company will and being 20 I need to do everything i can to get a cheaper quote, thats kinda why i need a diesel

I've been looking for a series 3 88" for a while now, its gotta be diesel but I can't seem to find any under 2k on usual sites - ebay, pistonheads, autotrader. I just missed out on one I found on autotrader earlier in the week. Anyone know a good place to get one from?
