He had to put a new clutch in as the release bearing had damaged it. What i meant by the clutch was ok was prior to the release bearing destroying it! Should of made myself clearer!

Hurray get my car back later! Price was £380! The actual clutch was ok it was the release bearing which has siezed and implanted itself in the clutch. Lucky no flywheel was needed!

Bit of an update! The guy is doing the clutch for £200, the clutch is costing £140+vat and if i need a new flywheel (which 99% of the time you do) that'l be another £245! So it is either gonna cost £400 or £700! Should be done by wednesday

Someone i know who used to work for landrover will do it for £200. He will let me know how much for the parts tomorrow. Fingers crossed i can do it for less than £400

Cheers lads. One company said £500 for the clutch and he'll do the flywheel for another £350!!!!!!

I'm getting pretty ****ed with owning a discovery. I have owned it since Feb 2008 and have had a new starter motor, new ACE pipes (£800+) and now my bloody clutch has gone!:mad: Its a 1997 series 2 TD5, i really dont want to get rid but its costing me a lot of cash (wrong time of year aswell!!!)...

Update on the ACE.... Well i put the bloody thing in for an mot after replacing front discs and pads and four new tyres. Failed mot on rear brake pipes and steering arm! At the same time he told me the ace pipes were split. Gonna cost £400 to supply and fit new pipes - bstard! Including brakes...

Job now done! I took off the complete bumper only to realise i didn't have to as i could access the problem from within the wheel arch!! (b'stard) The local motorworld dint sell replacement pipe so i jubilee clipped the old ones back on. Touch wood there are staying there. I have also fixed the...

A bit of help if possible lads! I have a 1999 discovery series 2 td5. My washer bottle seems to have sprung a leak. When i put water in it slowly dribbles out but when i pull the lever to wash the windows the water spurts out underneath instead. How do i get to the reservoir?? i cant even see...
