    Viscous Fan Problem

I didn't say remove the "rad". To make life easy with a "really tight" fan, drain the rad & remove the 2 x top hoses (diesel engine) this way you can lift out the cowl & get at the fan easier? Draper Tools do a cheap fan hub holding tool & the correct spanner for the fan nut. Travis.

    VM Diesel

To take the pump off, remove the plate on the front of the engine inline with the pump, you will see a cog (gear) on the pump drive shaft, mark the position of the cog against the mating cog, remove the securing nut or bolt & wedge the cog so it doesn’t move, mark the position of the pump (or...

P38 DSE, question for diesel experts

If you have manage to adjust the “timing” to far advanced, you will get a “clattering” this means the diesel knock is much harsher & the shock wave may cause damage, you may also notice black smoke from the exhaust? Retarding the timing below the norm will result in a...

    Viscous Fan Problem

Stuart, to remove the fan, drain the rad. & keep the antifreeze, remove the two hoses at the top, the plastic shield over the fan & anything else in your way. You will need a large expanding (water pump) pliers, Draper do one fairly cheap (& they a great for pushing pistons back into the...

Range Rover 4.6 Head Gasket Replacement

Andy, I am more cynical, the supplier you are talking about, I, suspect was using a cheaper/inferior stud (as always to cut costs), as for friction, it will always be there, a little more or a little less. Regards Trevor2 As my Father died, two weeks later his Great Grandson was born...

Would you put a cheaper no name oil in your engine? why put a cheaper no name fuel in your tank? personally my P38DT, a little less torque, not starting from cold as good, a little less mpg, boot it & black smoke from the exhaust? supermarket fuel. Changed to Shell & back to normal. (cheap...
