That's another thing. When I had the wheels off and was playing with the calipers n stuff, I notice that there's a small amount of play in the transmission. About 1/2" of turn of the hub before the prop shaft turns. I've always noticed a bit of a clunk if I'm a bit quick off the clutch changing...

I had to unseize the pistons in the brake caliper on me Disco 300TDi. They took some doing, prizing with a crobar then pumping back out and getting a couple of mil further each time. The final bit was really tuff then when I pumped them back out what looked like a seal (not the fury kind) came...

I can't see any reason a marine/leisure battery cannot safely be used in a Landy. The specifications are up to par (800CCA and 86 Ah) and the distributor says it'll be fine, boat batteries have to start hoofing great doisil engines in boats and they'll take deep cycling and I'm forever running...
