thanks dudes ....Well in the end i decided to weld a old output sthaft from a old gearbox on to a scaff pole straight across the chassis that locked it up .... 30mm on a 5ft scaff bar provided all the torque needed to move one bitch tight bolt........ now all i gotta do is remove 2 broken...

suppose i should have asked how do you lock off the pulley ..i aint got the gear box back yet ..happy days

Just putting 200tdi into my series :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):).. so have decided to give it a new timing belt, water pump. Nice however cant see how to undo the bottom pulley bolt... yes i have tried a 30mm socket thanks already

oh HAPPY DAYS m8 helicoil kit saved the day. The ultimate discovery of that god blessed australian outback. Won't need to be going back to that again....:rolleyes:

Oh happy days .It would seem that a previous owner has pulled the thread in the bellhousing which holds the slave cylinder !!!!!. Can anyone help with the size of a helicoli style insert which i suppose im gonna have too bite the bullet and order.
