Are you sure it's the tensioner that is squeaking mine makes a hell of a squeaking sound and has from new and LR say it's the belts even had them change them under warrentee (those were the days) sometimes when damp sounds like a matalic knock.

look at the spider under the dash (aparently there is a terminator to overide it) on Diesels it cuts off the fuel on the petrol it cuts off the LT.

Double D Clutch, dip clutch take out of gear, let clutch up, dip clutch put in to next gear up or down, used to do it before syncomesh gears. Wi9th a bit of practice it can be done just as quick as a normal gear change. Otherwise tak the box out and change the brass syncro rings.

What viscos engine oil do you use during the winter you should use a thiner oil than during the summer. just a thought!

Don't mind at all as long as we can get to the bottom of this. After a lot of thought I'm putting it down to a combination of two things firstly the fuel pump in the fuel tank not presurising the system and secondly what is causing it to cut out air getting in to the system when this starts...

It hasn't happened for a while then it started again in the cold weather it didn't loose the 12v feed after some more testing (as it is cutting out more frequently) I put an avo over the feed and got a reading then got someone to turn it over and the feed stays constant putting the feed back on...
