On the subject of fuel sensors etc. My 90 2.5tdi fuel light doesnt work when the levels get low. i have checked the bulb and fuses and its not that. can you advise please on where the sensor is and where it reads from as a way of problem solving to see why it won't work. Many Thanks

Hi, Can you recommend places that do land-rover gearboxes please in the bedfordshire area. i guess reconditioned ones would be best, as i dont have that bigger wallet! I know there is a place in Luton that i have heard lots about, but have tried to find what its called and cant find it...

Just as a quick question on the subject of heaters, my defender (300) doesnt really seem to blow out much. In my mates when he turns the heater up it really blows well and also warms up within minutes, with mine, i can drive 10 mile nearly before i getting what i would call an acceptable...

Just to fill you in on the latest... I have had a second mechanic have a listen to the whine and his prediction was that it was the "layshaft bearing" in the gearbox. Does this sound likely to any of you? Have any of you had this experience? Is it likely to be too much of a problem over...

Very interesting. I got a guy at rogers of bedford to have a listen to it yesterday and he hadnt heard anything like it before, but said all indicators point to the transfer box, which links in with what you were saying so sounds like its worth having a peak inside the box. Following on...

Hi My dads the mechaninc so i spoke to him and he said he checked the UJ's when checking gearbox oil levels etc and all are fine. I'll go and give it a go in the low box and see what happens. It seems to happen in all gears in normal drive. I'll get him to double check the UJ's though...
