Yes mate i get the same thing, The TC light comes on when it's working and stays on for two seconds after it's stopped, according to the manual. As for the noise, i think they all get it mine does it too !

At £1.20 per litre i'll fill my '99 TD5's tank at £110 and get down to 640 miles before light comes on!

Hey Up ! My series 2 needs new tryes soon and i fancy 50/50 muds, anyone here got any sound advice on best type and do i have to keep to the same size? i don't want to go over the top and i don't think i can lift it anyhow with air suspension and ACE. Thanks.

Thank you Gents, Soon as it gets a bit dryer i'll whip the wheel off and have a look. while your about don't suppose you know whats it's like replacing front wheel bearings, O/S been noisy since i bought it !
