alarm fault, srs fault and airbag fault on dash windows not working

Reason for questions is that fact that remote doesn't work is likely to imply that Immoboliser has been programmed off in becm. This implies that the BECM has been swapped at some point and the fob codes lost. This implies that there has been a previous becm fault. Let me ask the next...

    zf4hp24 swap with zf4hp22

Hi All Just swapped an engine from a car with and HP24 into a car with an HP22, probably should have uprated the torque converter as it is going from a 4.0 to a 4.6 but if it dies I will swap it, this is not a car that gets a lot of grief after all. The spacer on the flywheel for the flex plate...

    EKA Lockout help.

Hi Flix I have to say I agree with Derek. Also why two locks? Did the other door not lock with the key from the drivers door? New door locks best part of £150 each, plus fitting probably an hour a door (maybe) another £100, 'fixing' the BECM minimum of £100. £500??? This is my guess, and I...

    EKA Lockout help.

Hi Flix If it is immobilised and a late model vehicle it SHOULD be possible to enter the EKA via RovaCom or similar using the diagnostic connector in the passenger footwell. From our experience this doesn't always work though and sometimes the only fix is to direct access the BECM. We can do...

    VOSA rules

I wonder whether there is a similar argument going on on the Defender/Series thread about these new fangled coil springs versus good old safe leaf springs. And as for the modern technology of electric starter motors, surely this takes away from the fun of a good old hand crank! :) You pays...

    It's been delivered!

Assuming it's an Auto, don't forget the flex plate bolts! :) Also we have found getting to the top bell housing bolts is best done with about half a mile of socket extensions and basically working behind the gearbox with the ratchet. Have fun.

    P38 Alarm Fault?????????

I would also recommend checking all your door switches, and bonnet switch (although I would have thought you would get a message on the display of these were tripping the alarm) but easy to check and rule out anyway.

    sagging head lining

I gave up trying to glue these after lots of less than successful attempts and now use roof lining coloured plastic rivets, the best ones are the fabric coloured ones Land Rover originally used but these seem difficult to get. If you catch the headlining relatively early (ie before the front of...

URGENT help needed... desprate elec probs

Most likely cause is an insuffiuciently good battery, the P38 needs a good battery, the cold weather, the wonderful heated screens, etc are all bad news for a tired battery.

    door lock key code

Hi Azzd Assuming your code is correct, quite a few seem to have been changed, but fingers crossed for yours. If you change the drivers door lock mechanism, therefore including the microswitch in the lock mechanism, and assuming it is not a wiring fault between the door and the BECM. you should...

1997 P38, RR 4.0 SE; EAS BeCM ECU? Need help please!

Hi Persianrover. You best solution here is to get it plugged into some diagnostics. i definately wouldn't start condemning the BECM, in our experience this is rarely the problem. Where abouts are you? Thanks Andy

    immobiliser problem

Hi Pat Firstly I am making the assumption that we are talking about a P38 RR 94 - 2002, if not ignore the rest of my email. I would suggest that you need to find the cause of the problem rather than switch the immobilizer off. The actual immobilizer is part of the BECM and linked into the...
