+1 FTW etc. perhaps weld the bolts for steering guard, winch bumper etc, so no bugger can come along and unbolt them.

    Grease up ur nipples

Like Paul D, every month since I had a prop UJ snap. I don't want another one to snap thankyou. Not for the sake of a few pence worth of grease.

    an immobiliser bypass question

That link is the best one I've seen yet about this subject. Paul D, when / if you need yours doing, the hardest part is faffying around dissassembling the bloody dash. Job should be done and dusted in 2-3 hours easy.

    Plastic Wheel Arch Mouldings

If you have just bought them, why would you want to send them back? There a doddle to fit. Cut the old ones off with a Dremmal (carefully). Give the area a quick wash, use celluolse thinners to remove any tracers of glue. if you do have any rust, treat and paint the effected area, (but it...

    Plastic Wheel Arch Mouldings

As I said earlier in this thread, I either got mine from Paddocks or my local Land Rover main dealer. As it was several years ago I cant remember which one it was now, but the price was a lot less than some have quoted on here.

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

Because Ford never homologated it for use, as they preffered the Sierra and later Mondeo to be flying the flag for them around the world in touring car championships. Edited to add; I forgot to mention that BMW used the E21 323 / 333, then the E30 323 & M3, then the E36 318 for the Super...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

This ^^^^^^^^^^^ It wasn't so much the cars that had become the problem, but the **** poor levels of spectator safety, especially on events such as Portigal, Monte Carlo and Corsica.

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

Thats like comparing chalk and cheese. One was designed and developed specificly as a Groupe B rally car, with only the very basic silloette of the production model used. The other was first and foremost designed as a mid-sized family car, before being modified as a touring car, which still...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

The Orion was never used in the BTCC or the BSCC, or any saloon or touring car championship the world over. From the late 70's / early 80's onwards, Ford homologated first the Capri, then the XR4i, then the XR4ti, then Sierra Cosworth, then Sierra Cosworth RS500, then Mondeo, and finally the...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

When did Ford / or the lads at SVO in Boreham ever build even one Orion to compete in international touring car racing? I can't find any mention of this project anywhere else on the internet, or in my bumper book of Cosworth, which details all projects, including the one off prototypes, from...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

Wow Red, your a really safe driver aren't you? Driving like a **** and racing on the motorways, blocking people from exiting the motorway? Good job their wasn't any police around to see you doing that.

McLaren do not, and never have built there own engines. Cosworth, Porsche-TAG, Honda, Peugeot, Cosworth / Nicoleson, and now Mercedes - Illmor. Also the Orion was never entered for homologation to the FIA to compete in either Saloon Cars or Touring Cars. Fords 1991 Super Touring entry worldwide...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

So let me get this straight. Your 1.6 CVH engined Ford Escort with maybe 90 bhp accelerated to 60 mph faster than every vehicle in the current Ferrari range, and matched a 900 bhp / ton Caparo in acceleration stakes? Sorry, but I call bull****. It would have been lucky to do the dash in three...

    Gti brigade at traffic lights

Here's a little story for you chaps. A couple of years back I'm sat at some traffic lights in the Chimaera with the wife, just minding my own business on that glorious summers evening. Alongside me pulls up some ****box looking Nova saloon. The sort of heap that looked like it should have been...

temporary expansion tank filler cap !????

Top tip. Expansion tanks caps cost naff all. Always wise to keep a couple at home as spares. If I was in your position, I'd be thinking of getting a lift / taxi / bus. Likely to be cheaper than cooking your engine.
