Mine reads full every time I leave the garage forecourt, then slowly reads less and less the more that I drive it. I found I could fix the problem by going back to a petrol station (any one will work) and filling the tank with diesel. Hope this helps.

I think it's a great idea. They make pick-ups with exhaust brakes now so in theory it would be possible.
