    Screws for door card

Annoying indeed! Got too click happy...! Are the holes for the Series ones in the same place - ie. same spacing as Def ones?

    Dinitrol or similar

Thanks for this. So what would you treat the wheel arches the same way as the axles? - ie. rust removed, treated, primer, top coat, wax?

    Dinitrol or similar

Thanks for the advice. I've used this stuff before. Hammerite Underbody Seal with Added WaxOyl...

    Screws for door card

Thanks guys. I've realised today that the "straps" are what is left of the handle. It must have broken off with a previous owner leaving two stubs. Before I saw your message, I ordered a s/h early defender one. I've included a link below. Hopefully it will last. If not, can you send a...

    Dinitrol or similar

😂 Thanks for this. Is there a good rust converter? Painting the axles: I thought about using Hammerite Under Body Seal which also contains Wax Oyl....

    Dinitrol or similar

Thanks. There's quite a bit of surface rust on the axles and in the wheel arches. I'll wire wheel the worst off but won't a wax let this show through - I mean will the finish be good?

    Dinitrol or similar

Hi I'm thinking of using Dinitrol to protect the underside of my 1986 Ninety. However, it's fitted with a galvanized chassis and I want to keep that bare as I like the look. Dinitrol seems to be mainly a spray product so, apart from doing a (possibly fiddly) masking job undereath, is there...

    Screws for door card

Hi Just fitting a new door card to the tail safari door on my 1986 Ninety. Its a simple flat, plastic coated door card from LR Parts - no rear wiper. There's two captive bolts at the top with a couple of "strap" like things that look as though they will hold the top. I was going to go round...

    Voltage reading in ground cable(s)

Thanks. I have noticed some chaffing of a white and green cable going to the fuel sensor. There is continuity between the white cable and the ground that runs alongside it. The white cable is energised when the engine is running - but not the ground interestingly. I'd like to solve but I...

    Voltage reading in ground cable(s)

200Tdi Ninety Hi This is a new post - hoping that someone can advise me how to systematically troubleshoot a problem I am having with my 1986 200Tdi Ninety. Following an attempt to sort out a couple of issues........ [ - trying to wire up the fog light properly. Then put back to how it was...

Problems starting and temp gauge issue after work on instrument wiring

Hi, yes, that's correct: the red/white relay trigger wire stays non live and the corresponding earth is live I've taken the relay out completely and am using a jumper cable with a momentary switch across the output terminals (live cable in, solenoid cable out) direct to the starter. I'm...

Problems starting and temp gauge issue after work on instrument wiring

I initially thought it was the white/red cable from the ignition switch getting re-energised. However, that's not the case. The ground (black) cable is getting the juice and causing the relay to re-activate.

Problems starting and temp gauge issue after work on instrument wiring

It's definitely re-energising. If you remember, initially I thought it was something else.belt driven, but it's definitely the starter restarting. Not a good sound to hear (or smell to smell!). Removing the relay and using the jumper solves it. I'm suspicious that the problem I have with the...

Problems starting and temp gauge issue after work on instrument wiring

This post began with a problem with starting and has morphed into other head scratching mysteries. The problem I am now having is related to the starter circuit - but slightly different. Just to recap, after fiddling with wires behind the instrument panel, I got intermittent start problems...

    Which relay is which?

Thanks. Sounds good. I'll go through them on that basis. I'll look for a glow plug one.... Yes, I have a fuse box cover, but it doesn't refer to the relays....

LT77 reverse gear hard to select

Hi Here's the latest of my increasing number of posts ref my 1986 Ninety - 200Tdi. Oh no, not him again! 😂 So I had a reconditioned LT77 gearbox from Beaumont fitted (by a proper mechanic) in the last 2 months. All forward gears working well, however reverse gear is tricky. Gear lever goes...

    Which relay is which?

Hi. Sorry, probably stupid question, but why do you say the fuse box has been changed?

    Which relay is which?

I'll do that. Might there be a glow plug relay - in which case it will be difficult to identify whether they are on or off. I don't have. a light on the dash....

    Which relay is which?

Does anyone know how I would find out which relay is which on my 1986 Ninety 200TDi. I know the one on the extreme left is the starter relay and the one on extreme right is the hazard relay. Thanks
