Ive also just had a read, and apparently the EDC pumps where only fitted to automatics and this is manual?

Appreciate all the help mate. But without removing the current pump, that DOES appear to work, what is my course of action?

Would this be affected by removing the immobilised stop solenoid (i also removed the wiring it came with as had that anti tamper box thing on), so whats the work around for this? Egr blank and removal? Does it need programming out?

Boost pin is being replaced on arrival and so is lift pump (boost pin was well in there and did struggle to remove initially but was freed up after removal, and was marked before removal. I did run with nipple open and a tiny amount of air escaped but then was just diesel - and tbf when i opened...

It may well be, but on removal they was caked, so had a soak and a clean and all debris washed off the tip . Wasnt a professional job by any means.

Right another update - not a good one. So spent the day on the disco again today, to start with i re-tried the gravity fed line and had alot of stalling issues this time round, no air at all in the system. So it may of just been a fluke that it previously ran nicely! So i spat my dummy out and...

Just ordered 10m of fuel line, just going to re-do the full system whilst im bypassing sediment, will completely alleviate the damaged line problem 🤷

So... After a couple of weeks of none stop work ive had chance to get back on to her! She runs, gravity feed worked perfectly ran lovely! Slight coolant leak but nothing not fixable. Now my only problem is when reconnecting the original fuel lines, its still sucking in a joke amount of air and...

Plan on restoring it to the point of it passing an MOT, then either going to make it an overlander or just go all out and make it into a proper mudslut. Depends on what sort of attachment i get after the restoration, whether i go full nut and bolt rebuild or just build it to play

Sorry only just seen this! Spent the day on it today with the old man (had these all my life and was always tinkering), old solenoid was knackered! New solonoid in on a switch, it fires but dies, did a big bleed and removed all of the air, idling quite low (around 300rpm) and then dying again...

This is hopefully tomorrows job, will have somebody there with me to suffocate the engine in cass of run away, i did also check for air in the system and the fuelfilter appears to be very pressurised with air so will be giving it a good bleed aswell just to be sure its not air locked somewhere...

Got it off, ran a permanent live to solenoid, it was powering (clicking when putting to the live) but still no fuel getting to injectors, i have ordered a new solenoid but does this still look like the same issue?

Yes i cracked them all off and was nothing. Sorry i didnt see this had abit of stuff going on! This DDS box is a bitch to get off, its hanging on like a wobbly tooth but daylight left me and torches are no good so gonna carry on with it tomorrow

Just reread that defender forum and it seems to be right, i have that dds thing, so need to smash that off and install a new solenoid

Took off the 3 pin plug, and replugged in after cleaning, there is a very slight click when plugging in. (Tried 3 times to make sure i wasnt hearing things) what is my next step from here?
