    L322 L322 TD6 Not Starting

Tried jumping the earth wires including straight from terminal posts to battery, starter motor casing to battery, etc - used about 3 different pairs of jump leads and the engine bay looked like an accident in a spaghetti factory. Made no difference whatsoever, starter motor is now just buzz and...

    L322 L322 TD6 Not Starting

And we have a winner. Wife came home so got the small ****ting stick out, couple of knocks whilst she held the key over and off it went. Are the starter motors/solenoids a serviceable item?

    L322 L322 TD6 Not Starting

Already been replaced. Car started with both old and new ones when I had the ignition apart to replace it. That particular merry go round went like this: No start, suspect ignition switch. Remove old ignition switch, strip switch and find contacts look a bit ropey. Order new switch. Few days...

    L322 L322 TD6 Not Starting

Been having a start issue with my 06 L322 TD6 - started fine until recently, then one day refused to start - no warning lights/error messages, just no cranking or any other noises. Tried a few things, starting in P/N to check if gear shift lockout worked (shows correct gear on dash) took...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Cost - bit hard to say as it was bundled in with other work. Probably made up a couple of hundred quid of the total bill.

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

ABS sensor was shot and the ride height needed calibrating apparently, all sorted now.

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Dropped it off this morning at the local Land Rover specialist (it was booked in for a new rear prop already), so I asked him to look at the other issues. So far it's looking like an ABS issue causing this but he can't get his diagnostics machine to talk to the ABS or Air Suspension. No fuse...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Right, new battery fitted. Definitely starts better, but no change for the HDC fault or warning lights on the dash. Next stop, an INPA cable and laptop.

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Just been out to it, battery fully charged (12.9v on the multimeter) but the fault is still present. I'll recheck the voltage tomorrow (mainly to see how much it'll have dropped) but ultimately I'll almost certainly be ordering a battery (a pair actually as I need one for another car too), so...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Just been out with the multimeter. 11.8v across the battery terminals with the car having not been started for two days, which isn't brilliant. Alternator is putting 14.2v in when running. Got a Noco battery charger/conditioner on it now, see if that helps. Putting some feelers out for a cheap...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

The car has had a noticeable nose-down attitude for some time. I've not bothered with it until now because it rode fine and rose/dropped as it should. With the HDC/suspension fault both front and rear have settled an inch or so lower and the ride is much more harsh at the front (but not bouncing...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

I'll have a look after work tomorrow - I need to dig out the multimeter and the battery charger anyway. Unfortunately my code reader is programmed only for BMWs & Minis and can't see the HDC/suspension faults (it'll see a couple of things on the L322 if set to E53 X5 mode but nothing important)...

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

Thanks folks. Before I lash out on a new battery, if I get the old battery on charge and make sure its well topped up will that have any chance of removing the faults (just to prove the issue really is the battery)?

    L322 HDC/Suspension throwing a strop.

My 2006 L322 TD6 is having a sulk. A few days ago I started it from cold and was immediately rewarded with the 'HDC Fault' & 'Suspension Lowered' messages on the dash. I've owned the car for nearly six months and during that time apart from a knocking between 15-25mph from the prop bearing (UJ...

Disco 2 Just acquired a TD5, Christmas Tree dashboard.

Ok fella, I go to work in Exeter sometimes by car so it wouldn't be a major detour to drop by. Cheers Will do, thanks. Ah, didn't realise that. I'm beginning to think finding a secondhand Nanocom would be a good idea....

Disco 2 Just acquired a TD5, Christmas Tree dashboard.

Hi folks, back into Green Oval ownership again with a 1999 Disco TD5. I bought it because of the reasonably solid chassis, but it does have the following faults that need rectification due to a short MoT: 3 Amigos on intermittently SRS lamp lit If I can I'll try to acquire a Nanocom or Hawkeye...

P38A Yet another P38 (99 4.6) getting hot under the collar....

The viscous fan spins easily by hand when cold as I’d expect, i’ll check it hot on Friday.

P38A Yet another P38 (99 4.6) getting hot under the collar....

Thor engine. It’s got blue coolant because that’s all that was available ready-mixed. It’ll be dropped out and replaced with the right spec stuff when all the hoses get replaced.

P38A Yet another P38 (99 4.6) getting hot under the collar....

Alright folks, my recently acquired P38A (1999 Thor 4.6) has a nasty habit of blowing water pipes. The previous owner admitted replacing one of the pair of pipes at the top of the engine bay to the bulkhead. The trip home from purchase was uneventful for 75 miles and then it blew the 3-way hose...

    Back to the green oval...

So, after a couple of years of not having a roadworthy Land Rover, last week I collected a P38. Naturally, it needs fixing.... It can’t hold its coolant at the moment, so a new set of hoses will be ordered along with thermostats. The plan is just to tidy it and use it - maybe with the odd...
