I am using 15wxx (i think 50) oil. Is it worth rebuilding this and running it with a thicker oil? That seems to help solve a lot of issues for people experiencing piston slap. Especially since my PSI readings are all fine and dandy. Thoughts?

thats my fingerprint and i took the rings off to test the clearance between tbe piston and the bore by taking it out and outting it in inverted like the manual says

agree. Im quite certain that it aint the gb after i listened with the stetoscope. No it has never been checked! that should mean its piston slap only on 1 piston...? right? I did check the tolerances of one piston i recall and it was on the danger side of things. But not over. I might check...

i have taken apart the whole head and lapped the valves. i know the springs aint broken i inspected those. thanks for the rocker reference picture! will compare tomorrow.

thanks for the extensive reply. i could not lift the tappets with the pushrod. none stuck. though; i havent properly tried either. Some tappets did lift the roller alongside with them. about the tappets themselves. there appears to be some layer of predeposited friction material on the tappets...
