Carrying load on a Disco II

Well, I'm back from my trip with no problems with regard to air suspension. Found out after the trip the pay load quoted is 725kg, I actually carried 400kg in total - felt like 1000kg - over very rough terrain and it was excellent. I still struggle to find the negative of the air suspension.....

Gear Box oil leak Disco II TD5?

Hi there, I have noticed a small amount of very clear thin oil on my garage floor for a while now. Trying to trace it this weekend i have noticed it is coming from somewhere around the top of my gear box - I think. The reason I say this is there is a soft sponge material around the top half of...

    air suspension

From my experience, just been through the same situation as you, you should change both air bags at the same time, dont kow why, but everyone I spoke to advised this. I have had no problems sice doing this. As someone from this site informed me, Land Rover reckonn the bags should be replaced...

    Downhill descent control

So it is pretty much a case of assessing the terrain and deciding if going down under manual control is better or if HDC is better. I suppose it's back to understanding your vehicle.

Carrying load on a Disco II

Can anyone advise me the safe carrying load I can pack into my Disco II, considering I have standard air suspension. We are doing some long trips and am loading the roof rack as well as the back of the car and am concerned I am overdoing it. Can the air suspension and compressor handle heavy...

    Downhill descent control

Thanks for the info, the operation I understand, but have my reservations about how safe it is. Sorry forgot to mention, I have a Disco II TD5 2002 ES and take it on serious off-road trips with our local Land Rover club. I have noticed on loose material and severe descents the car seems to "slip...

    Downhill descent control

Does anyone know the details around how the downhill descent control works? Mine seems to allow some strange behaviours, like allowing the car to build up speed when you dont want it to and really letting go on loose steep sections - again when you dont want it to. Some dangerous moments...
