    Series Landy Values

Thanks Palagius. TBH either a 2a or a 3 would suit be fine. The only reason I’m erring towards a S3 is they seem slightly cheaper in price, better electrics I’m told and servo assisted brakes etc. I’m ideally after a bit of a rolling project. Will be my first classic landy so will be learning...

    Series Landy Values

Ha thanks all for your insight and good humour. Agree that it will most definitely be a labour of love and spent most of the time chasing oil leaks around the place like the proverbial finger in the dyke. Some useful pointers regarding LRM/LRO. I also caught a Series Land Rover magazine about...

    Series Landy Values

Hi Guys Still on the search for a suitable S3. Out of interest where can I find a suitable gauge for current market values of different series so I know roughly what is a good deal etc? I’ve got Maurice Thurman’s excellent buyers guide which talks in % of station wagon values with 109’s less...

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

For my first ideally a running project 😂 something I can use from the off perhaps without major welding etc but can do up and improve over time. Happy to learn as I go. Something to gently ease me into chasing oil leaks and rust around over the lifetime of my ownership 😂

Yes anything half decent seems to be up in Yorkshire or Scotland which is a fair trek from me. Appreciate your and turbomans view on price. I’m happy to keep my powder dry and keep looking. 👀

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

I think I’ll convert to a rag top in any event but given roof and sides seem to be around £250 to replace doesn’t seem too expensive to switch styles around unless I’m being too simplistic

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

Now that’s the age old question. Asking £7.5k but unsure on what I should be paying. Appreciate market is what someone will pay…. Seems to be wild swings in S3 values

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

Thanks Turboman. Now you mention it the bottom pillar replacement probably accounts for the door alignment as it is not quite in line with still below and therefore assume would then throw top of door off. If I view again I’ll pay far more attention to the bulkhead and door hinges. You are...

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

Hi Greg. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. Welding is definitely something I’ve not done before and whilst it is something I want to learn might not be first try on this bulkhead. Luckily I’ve spoken to a welder mate with photos and he thinks straight forward enough to patch...

Series 3 Land Rover S3 Purchase Questions

Hi all. A very long time lurker and hopefully soon to be an owner. Appreciate any help you can give to me here. I’ve been wanting a S2a/3 for years and finally am in a fortunate position to buy. I’ve looked at a 1971 S3 which drives really well, starts first time, chassis looks fine etc but...
