Thanks for your reply and thoughts. I had come to the same conclusion after reading various manuals etc! Checked with hom and suggested he reset the whole system, which he did and all is now well!

My mechanic removed battery to work on steering pump and rack, when he refitted it he is getting ABS Control Module not communicating error? Any ideas please - batery removal and refit surely surely shouldn’t cause this!!! Thank you.

Thank you for your comments. All parts have been changed, system flushed as stated in my query. Aware ot the swarf issuevwhich is why everything renewed!

I have a 2009 FL2. Power steering packed up earlier this year. Since then, following various advice on here and elsewhere I have changed the rack, pump (3 x rimes!) and the reservoir twice. unfortunately didn’t find out that rack swrf was probably the issue until after two piump chnges! However...
