I hadn't thought about the insurance. What if I disconnect the battery at night for now- does the alarm have a back-up battery?

Then it must have a fault with the central locking, because locking the driver's door with the key doesn't lock the others. But I'm not interested in fixing the alarm, I just want to disable it.

I've been trying to do that, but it's got the 2-stage locking (press the fob once to open the driver's door then again to open the rest) so I've been having to lock with the fob, then unlock and lock the driver's door. I actually managed to set the alarm off while doing it today.
